Application Process
This $500.00 Bucks for Books Scholarship is open to any high school senior who lives in and attends a high school in Bucks County and plans a college major in education or library science.
The 2016 Bucks for Books scholarship will be awarded during BCLA's Spring workshop on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, beginning at 5:00pm.
The 2016 Application is now open.
Application Requirements:
- Please complete the electronic application; upon completion, it will be emailed to the scholarship committee. The application can only be completed in one sitting, you cannot return to add or edit information.
- At the end of the application, you will be asked to submit an essay indicating your educational goals and how the library has been influential in helping you to achieve them. You will be able to upload a Word document or PDF file.
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor is also required to complete your application. If you have an electronic copy, you can upload it at the end of this online application. If you do not have an electronic copy, please have the teacher or guidance counselor email a letter of recommendation to Noreen Moore at This email address is being protected from spambots. - A high school transcript may be requested at a later date. The scholarship committee will contact your guidance counselor if this is necessary.
- The COMPLETED application due date is Friday, April 9, 2014. Applications are not complete until the application has been submitted online and the essay and letter of recommendation has been received.
